PostSubject: My best OU Team so far   My best OU Team so far EmptyWed May 19, 2010 1:24 pm

Hey everyone. This is probably my most successful OU team so I'd like ti get further help.

Infernape (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 64 Atk/192 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Blast
- Close Combat
- Fake Out

Standard LeadApe. I like it because it has the ability to take out the opposing lead as well as SR.
---

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Recover
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]

After using sub roost mence, I realised that latias does it almost entirely better. I sub after a switch and when they expect a set up, I can play accordingly.
---
Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 80 HP/252 Atk/176 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Ice Punch
- Iron Head
- Fire Punch
- Thunderpunch

This is a great revenge killer. Its type coverage can kill scizor, gyara and mence alike.
---

Tyranitar (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
I've never actually used a T-tar before and I want to give it a try. However, DD isn't going to well. I'm not running babiri as my team can deal reasonably with scizor although I might put it back. I might go with a pursuit set though or a sub set.

---
Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/40 Def/216 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Roost
- Toxic

This pairs nicely with Tar and can stop sweepers and walls alike.

---
Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Seed Flare
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earth Power
- Rest

This is the star of my team. It is epic. I get like 1 or 2 kills each time. Seed flare rapes all these tyranitars. HP Ice kills mence that doesn't realise that shaymin is faster and all the non scarf heatran that haven't heard of earth power. It is great.

I took my best team which had a Latias and replaced it with some variant of Suicune. Like Latias it has a lot of defensive versatility. Might be a good replacement but I'm just going with my gut. This team looks cool. Must be a breeze switching. I love teams like that. Teams where every switch is a make or break give me headaches...

Personally I don't like scarf Jirachi. I like wish / calm mind Jirachi. I would argue it gives your team even more insurance against threats than scarf does, which dies 50% of the time to Salamence. Maybe I'm crazy though...haven't really used revenge killers in many of my teams. Always preferred to put in 2-3 ridiculously bulky pokemon.

Definitely give T-tar leftovers or babiri berry. I would give it the babiri berry. It's not about countering Scizor...it's about not being countered by Scizor. Get your sweep set up right away.
I always run this Tyranitar set...
Babiri Berry / Jolly
Crunch / Stone Edge / Earthquake

I don't know why more people don't do it this way. Stone edge is STAB neutral against Scizor. It will OHKO it often. Then earthquake is a ridiculously stronger alternative to fire punch. All those defensively bulky steel pokemon will go down hard, as well as rock pokemon. The difference in base power is huge. Also stone edge + earthquake can deal with Skarmory if you play your cards right...not that fire punch does more damage than stone edge against Skarmory anyways. I would go for stone edge, then either you're whirlwinded out still in. After that go for an earthquake to catch it as it tries to roost. Or something like that. Can work.

I forget why I use jolly but I know it's pretty significant for beating revenge attempts. And a failed revenge attempt is most often death for an opponent. I just find it far more significant than taking down super-bulks and stalls.
